Photo Manipulation in Media. In media a common way of spreading fake news is to doctor fake evidence, and one of the easiest forms of media to fake or manipulate is photographs. According to the Global Investigative Journalism Network, “Photo manipulation is the easiest way to fake news, but also a simple one to expose”. There are two ways to do this, one is by booting up Photoshop and modifying existing photographs to suit your narrative, and the other way to pull this off is by showing real photographs that have not been doctored, and presenting them out of context to sell a narrative to an audience that doesn’t know the original context of the picture.
