Today as our society has begun to shift in a more progressive direction the shadows of our less than accepting past still remains. This problem is perfectly identified in a quote from Tonya Mosley stating "Trust me — every person of color in your newsroom has a story about how a manager questioned either their news judgment, their diction, or whether they could be neutral or objective." Many reporters that have suffered through situation like this are often presented with the challenge of staying objective when reporting on a topic that relates to something he/she might have gone through. This forces the publisher to question weather or not to assign certain topics to certain reporters in order to maintain objectivity and their reputation. This is just another issue plaguing reporters today that will not be leaving anytime soon.
