r/wallstreetbets Against the Odds

Reddit recently has been in a lot of drama due to the recent subreddit titled r/wallstreetbets. This whole event had massive reach and led to Robinhood getting sued, Discord closing the now old WallStreetBets server and Reddit making that subreddit private for a day. “Discord says it did not ban the WallStreetBets server for financial fraud — rather, it was banned because it continued to allow “hateful and discriminatory content after repeated warnings.” (Peters 1) While the buzz of this event is slowly fading, it shows Robinhood in it’s true light. “The lawsuit accuses Robinhood, a popular trading and individual brokerage app used by retail investors, of breaching its contract” (Breuninger, Franck, and Macias 1)
