Over the past few months, America and many countries around the world have issued a mandatory stay-at-home order in hopes to decrease the amount of COVID-19 cases. However, Georgia has decided to begin to reopen its state by opening up gyms, dine-in restaurants, and many other public areas. This was seen as a positive to those who are fed up with being confined to their homes and as a negative to those who care about the safety of their state. According to Maeve Reston of CNN, "[Mayor] Bottoms predicted that positive Covid-19 test numbers will rise within the next few weeks, possibly erasing the gains made by keeping people at home for the last three weeks." These are tough times for everyone and it is perfectly understandable why people would want the stay-at-home order to ease up but it also needs to be understood that there are millions of lives at risk if Georgia carries on with their reopening.
