Journalists “write and report news stories about everything, from social issues and politics to sports and entertainment” (Talley 1). Journalists do a lot more than write articles. They construct interviews, take pictures and videos, and post to social media. There are, however, restraints on what you can and can not post. I recently read a news article about two journalists, Darya Chultsova and Yekaterina Andreyeva, recently sentenced two years in prision for live-streaming a demonstration in memory of an opposition activist who died. They were charged for “organizing a demonstration that grossly violates public order” (Ilyushina 1). The article then goes on to talk about why they were charged this and what will happen to them.
