I try to stay as educated on new environmental feats such as what to do with non-functioning oil rigs. In the article, the BBC informs the readers by explaining how fish and other sea life are attracted to these large constructions. The BBC also sheds light on how these oil rigs were once destructive to the environment; however, they can find a new purpose in “manmade structures like artificial reefs.” The BBC uses these strategies to inform the public because, with this information, large oil companies who own these rigs can then use this information to help restore part of the environment they damaged.
