It is no secret that many influential companies serve a political agenda. This causes a major division between the two main political parties, Republicans and Democrats. According to Danna Young, if we continue to allow "algorithms and micro-targeting mechanisms deliver us belief-confirming disinformation and culturally-divisive tropes" we will end up "rage-fueled" and "ungovernable" as we can already see starting to take place. However, she also stated that we have another option, "actively work to disrupt the infrastructure, logic, and economic model that are driving the American public apart.". It may be hard to coexist with the "other side" but we must not allow the media to drive us apart even further with its divisive rhetorical strategies.
