Netflix’s infamous documentary series, Tiger King, is mainly
about “Joe Exotic” who collects exotic cats and keeps them in his zoo for a living. However, his grueling hatred for fellow cat lover, Carol Baskin, led him to choose an easily regrettable path. According to the podcast All of It, Robert Moor starts his journey as becoming a journalist for Tiger King by coming across a story on the internet about an “alligator being burned alive in animal park fire.” This caused him to become more intrigued, which eventually led him to stay in a trailer park at Joe Exotic’s zoo for a week. During that short week, journalist Moor got to know more about Joe and his future goals. The more they talked, the more Moor became captivated with Joe’s lifestyle, leading him to stick around and observe the story “four years.” With first-hand experience of witnessing this insane story, Robert Moor was able to depict Joe’s characteristics.
