"A shadowy organization in St. Petersburg, Russia, [spreading] false information on the Internet (New York Times)", may be behind some of the iffy things you read online. The Agency, as its known, is a group in Russia aimed to spread disinformation across the world and keep their parties in power. Although they may seem like just an unimportant group on the other side of the Earth, its not something to be ignorant about. They were responsible for a massive disinformation hoax about a chemical explosion in Louisiana. Although this may seem like something to be worried about, its not really a big deal. THe US is aware of their existance, and wont let something that bad happen again.
