We all use Snapchat and Instagram, if not both we at least use one of them in out daily lives. The controversy is that which on is better and if both are needed. Instagram use to be a place of posting pictures and responding to each other’s pictures in likes and commenting in a gallery format. Snapchat was a platform for content that only lasted a very short amount to be sent to just one person or for all your friends to see. The rivalry began when Instagram brought a very similar feature as Snapchat on their app. According to the Businessinsider, “More people are using Instagram Stories than the entirety of the Snapchat app.” What use to be Snapchat’s main use is now provided by Instagram. Instagram has now added the story feature of Snapchat on their app. People can now do everything they want to do on Snapchat on Instagram, which has made it difficult to figure out which one is better. Both have features that make them stand out such as the best friend and streak counters of Snapchat. Instagram specializes in keeping memories in almost a picture album format that is available to everyone. Instagram also provides access to much more content than Snapchat. To figure out which one is the best you have to analyze which one fits your lifestyle better. Do you like sharing your life with a sense of privacy to people close to you like on Snapchat? Or do you like posting highlights of your life that can be seen as long as you want them to be accessible?
