Fact-checking is a duty and more, which makes those inquired of information lazy in verification processes. Yet, Twitter is innovating the way it proves media to be reliable on this news medium. While the app is beginning to roll out a fact check feature in the coming weeks, it is apparent this is no new practice for Twitter. A similar evaluation method was demonstrated In March of 2020. In that event, tweets were labeled as misleading or inaccurate in regards to the developing coronavirus. Further, in May declaring disputes of tweets directly from Donald Trump concerning mail-in ballots. Thankfully, a third-party app, 'BirdWatchers,' will assist the future of fact-checking experience performed with Twitter. The platform can entail ratings and comments for "clarity and nuance and links to articles that support their argument" (Soave, 21.) Which many researchers (and bloggers) can find to be progressive in this era of social media.
