This movie covers the story of The Boston Globe's investigative team, Spotlight, in their year-long investigation, starting in 2001, of a cover-up involving Boston's religious, legal, and governmental institutions. Spotlight covers the struggle journalists face when covering a hard topic. It shows the struggle of getting the story out to the public quickly, versus having enough information to sell the story, aka the "want to keep digging", and not have it be covered up by the forces that want to hide the truth.
