Spotlight is about the spotlight team uncovering the story of Catholic Priests in Boston and other parts of the country abusing kids in a sexual manner. The investigative team goes on a search for the truth behind the allegations after a new editor-in-chief is brought on to head the Boston Globe. The story starts with a case against one man and the struggle to uncover the secrets buried by the parties involved. These secrets being sealed files that could prove the one man guilty. The only way to legally access the files is to file a motion. Most respond to this with a, "So, you're going to sue the Church?"
