Recently, taking advantage of the Covid-19 outbreak, in their attempts to avoid and monitor epidemics, bad actors have taken advantage of spreading a lot of false information in cyberspace, distorting the epidemic situation and the course and administration of the government, the health ministry, departments, branches, and localities.
The Ministry of Public Security, therefore, recommends that individuals calmly sift through data, equip themselves with legal and social awareness, and recognize cross-information when sculpted and forged cyberspace information is accessed.
Based on Christopher Dwyer's article, "10 Ways to Spot Fake News," the first thing we all need to do is "evaluating the credibility of claims and arguments involves progressing beyond merely identifying the source of propositions in an argument, to actually examining the credibility of those identified sources (e.g., personal experiences, common beliefs, opinions, expert/authority opinion, statistics and research evidence)." Thus, knowing the sources of what we read is important. At the same time, prevent the website's domain name where the data is posted, often the source of information is misleading or fake is usually the website with foreign domain names, such as “.com” or “.org.”
