Stop The Gossip

I recently learned that although several news stations may report the same "news", it tends to be expressed based on how their general structure is formed, thus causing a lot of misinformation or room for speculation. In the article "Local collaboration is key to slowing misinformation," by Shaydanay Urbani and Nancy Watzman, https://www.niemanlab.org/2020/12/local-collaboration-is-key-to-slowing-misinformation/ they express that "No fact-checks that are so perfectly constructed they get around our cognitive machinery." and I couldn't agree more. Throughout the article, they express how journalists need to ban together and bring the focus back to the public to stop the misinformation that is thrown about with "local rumors, memes, and misleading photos." It's through a group effort that we can stop the gossip and misinformation spread and focus back on the truths. [1 image, 1 link, 2 quotations, 131 words]
