With all the division in the world, especially now within the past year, it has become clear that some news outlets sway one way or the other. Journalists need to start embracing all of society and pour all viewpoints into their work to get the most fulfillment out of it. Journalist Cory Haik stresses that "we embrace audiences of all shapes and sizes and work to produce work that fits their needs — as opposed to chasing as many people as we can to pay attention. We need to be essential" (1). Some individuals will always choose to follow today's trends but to be a great journalist, you need to take the road less traveled to push the critical information out to the world.
