Technology really takes a toll on Journalism...

As a journalist Mrs. Julia B. Chan the managing editor of digital at KQED News, explains her views on how 2020 needs to be a new era of unplugging and "taking breaks". She describes how journalist are "always on" and never get a break from their technology. This in fact is taking a toll on these people. They report all kinds of tragedies and never really get the time to heal or have "space and time to cope" after reporting these traumatic events. Therefore, Mrs. Chan explains her practices as manager for her employees and what changes she is making for the betterment of their life styles and health. She explains how she expects her team to be asking for more paid vacations and time to relax. As well as she explains a really great idea of "self-imposed media blackouts, a short period of time with a clear start and end", that way it forces her team to have time off of technology to give their mental and physical health a break. Mrs. Chan has spoken greatly of different ideas that journalist all around the world should do to make sure they stay sane while working on the job. Everyone needs breaks and these hard workers need to take some time away from their crazy jobs for self-relaxation. If they can't find the time for these well needed breaks then their managers should make the time for them. After-all we need journalist in the entertainment field!
