The Dallas Morning News vs. Daily News Part 1

Are layouts for different newspapers the same? The answer is no. All newspapers' front pages are slightly or somewhat different from each other. For example, a newspaper in New York may have a slightly different layout then a newspaper in Georgia. Today, we are going to look at The Dallas Morning News layout and The Daily News layout. First is The Dallas Morning News. At the very top of the front page, it shows a quick statement about business. Underneath the quick statement for Business is the name of the company which is The Dallas Morning News. The Dallas Morning News font is different from the titles of the articles, and the size is a lot larger than the titles of the articles. Underneath the company's name, The Dallas Morning News states that it is "Texas' Leading Source", it is "$2.99", their location and their website. "Texas' Leading Source" and "$2.99" are really small in size, and are similar in size to the information in the articles. Their location is the same size, but it is bold. The website is bigger than the other three and is in a different font. The first section of articles for 04/07/2021 is about Coronavirus. The two articles are titled "New efforts aimed at southern Dallas" and "State's rent relief efforts get off to a bumpy start". Also within the Coronavirus section, they included an inside article. Underneath that there is a title about March Madness, and there is a picture of the Baylor Bears basketball coach's return to Waco. There is a description underneath the photo, but they are really tiny. The description stated that "Baylor basketball coach Scott Drew made a triumphant return to Waco on Tuesday after the Bears won the NCAA tournament." Next to the Baylor photo, is the Education Lab section. There is an article titled "Falling STAAR blamed on glitch." Underneath the Baylor photo is an article about Legislature. Underneath the Legislature and Education Lab, there is a section with the forecast, nation and world, and business. Next to that is a picture that is titled "Chauvin's crisis training explored", and has a small description underneath the photo. Lastly, next to the photo is the public health section. Also, each article has a page number if someone wants to see more information about that article. Dallas Morning News states that if you want to read more of the Education Lab article for April 7th "See STUDENTS Page 5A." Fun Fact is on this website, the front pages change the following day. For example, If you read a front page newspaper for Dallas Morning News on this website yesterday, the front page for Dallas Morning News is different today.
