The Dangers of Investigative Journalism

Investigative journalism can be a dangerous job to have in certain places in the world. These journalists will attend riots, protests and work with uncooperative sources to uncover the truth. People often assume that it is safer for journalists in America, but they would be wrong. In the article, Journalists still wrongly think the U.S. is different, it states that "In 2020 as a whole (at least up to now), 313 U.S. journalists have been attacked," showing how dangerous it has become to be a journalist in America. Despite the growing numbers of assaults against reporters, "international actors refuse to call what is happening in the U.S. an outright assault on journalistic freedoms.". It is time to acknowledge how dangerous it has become in this increasingly polarized society to uncover the truth.
