In Today's society, there are a plethora of apps that allow us to access news.
Whether it is Twitter or News Break, people are constantly being updated with information through various apps.
As far as designs go for the apps, News Break is geared more towards local news as well as topics that the account owner gets to choose. This allows people to hold control over what they want to hear news about. Twitter uses the popularity of being a "social media'' to attract crowds and get more eyes on information. According to Nieman Reports, "Twitter experience is determined by whose tweets we welcome into our digital feed, and digital communities tend to congregate around interests or issues".
Although an app like Twitter can have a non-biased, informing side, it can sometimes be hard to ensure that we are reading reliable information. Along with uncertainty for reliable information, Twitter can be hard to navigate when looking for the information itself. On the app News Break, there are clear titles that provide us with a clear topic. For Example, on the tab of "Headlines", one might read "Biden to announce the US will donate $4 billion to COVID-19 vaccines for poor countries". With this title it gives a summary of the article, so we already know what it will be talking about. And with it being a news based app, there is a greater chance the information will be reliable.
