Throughout the past year there were many memorable moments. Whether unfortunate or fortunate the world has had many watershed moments over the past year. While it may be fun to look back on our achievements and wrongdoings in order to see what we did well and could have done better it may be more important to look ahead and map out how we want our lives to look in the coming year. In NeimanLabs Predictions for Journalism 2021 Shaydanay Urbani and Nancy Watzman write: We found that the most damaging misinformation narratives started as local rumors, memes, and misleading photos — repackaged and reshared across the country” (Shaydanay Urbani & Nancy Watzman, Local collaboration is key to slowing misinformation, NeimanLabs). This insightful peace on how the world is being damaged by these things gives a closer look on what we can expect for the future. Overall, being mindful of the future and the public rhetorics that are used in the world is very important.
