The Future of Journalism

October

When reading the "Predictions for Journalism" I thought it would be a personal informative on the writers take on the future of journalism but instead, it was a compilation of quotes from many different journalists. as Rachel Glickhouse points out “There are lots of efforts to bolster print and local media, but there aren’t many structures in place to support journalists struggling with job insecurity or job loss.” In 2019, Almost 8,000 people lost their jobs in the media field despite media doing well. I think this is very bad because if there are not enough voices and different opinions being heard and discussed. Journalism could take a turn for the worse being controlled by a bias few, doing what they can to appease those who can keep them afloat.
