There are some people that born with natural talent with regards to sports, but they do not nurture it. Jerry Rice is the case where he was given freakish genetics and earned a back breaking work ethic. On the 49ers website, it states that his dad was a mason and Jerry was forced to catch the bricks to make sure his dad had bricks to lay so they could make ends meet. Catching the bricks is what allowed Jerry to condition his hands to catch the football properly. But he did not stop there; he ran 2 miles everyday and made sure he worked out more than anyone else.
