When I first watch “The Newsies” as a child I thought it was just a musical to entertain families and friends at social gatherings. But as I got older, I learned that there we are movies based on real life experiences, so I took upon myself to investigate “The Newsies” as my first. I started some deep diving into the internet and found that the musical is based on a real-life campaign that took place in New York, in 1899. When newsboys- often orphans or street kids- who sold the newspaper- started a strike for better.
