Journalism is a profession that was supposed to benefit based on the rise of digital media, however, this may be the last couple of years that being a journalist can be considered a safe job. Journalist Rachel Glickhouse claims, "Journalists will continue to lose their jobs and have to make important decisions about their livelihoods...some journalists will leave media for good." Because of COVID-19 and its impact on the job market and economy, journalists are already either being laid off or fired making Glickhouse's prediction a somewhat accurate one. Of course, when the world hopefully returns to normal, journalism may also return to normal for the job market.
