The Resurrection of Blogs

Walker Cline

Our emails drown in advertisements, newsletters, and spam. The solution, Joanne McNeil claims, is to go back to blogging. If you start a newsletter, you will get rolled eyes and complaints about already being subscribed to too many. But, start a blog, and they'll react much differently, McNeil claims. "Huh. Really, a blog? In 2020? Wow." (McNeil) Blogs fill a niche, small environment that appeals to more and more individuals as the whirlwind of information grows more hectic around them. Since blogs have a smaller audience, the posts feel more personal between the author and the audience, leading the audience to feel more open to the opinions and emotions the author writes about.
