The Truth on "Fake News"

Everyday we encounter fake news, whether we are on social media, watching TV or even having a conversation with someone. We receive information and have no other option but to believe our one source since we have not heard otherwise. This fake news spreads easily and most people believe everything they hear. This is bad for our society because we believe something to be true, when in fact it is the exact opposite. That is why it is very important to be able to tell fake vs. real news. Renee DiResta believes that we can prevent the spread of fake news. She states, "Check before you share! Take the extra few seconds to look over the source." By checking your source you can make a call and decide if the source of this information is trustworthy.
