Due to recent violent events, the push for Gun Control has become one of the latest topics on the Biden administration's agenda. After the Colorado shooting, President Biden has put new measures of executive action on Gun Control. Regardless of one's position on this issue, it is well worth it to point out a major falsehood that President Biden and former President Obama have used to push this issue. They call it the "gun show loophole". The President stated that a person could purchase "whatever you want" without a background check at a gun show. This is a repeated lie that has been proven to be false by several government organizations including the ATF. When purchasing a firearm from a dealer or at a gun show, everyone goes through a federal background check. The only exception to this rule is when a private transfer of a firearm happens. The "gun show loophole" is a repeated lie that apparently is still being used to push a political agenda on firearms.
