YouTube is a online video sharing platform where anyone can "upload, view, rate, share, add to playlists, report, comment on videos, and subscribe to other users". Billions of videos are watched everyday from a variety of genres, topics, and users. You are able to watch whatever you are interested in as there is a great range of videos on that subject. It is slowly taking over the streaming community as it can be argued it is watched more than cable/ regular television. YouTube also uses multiple rhetorical devices like ethos, pathos, and logos. Ethos can be seen on news channels like CNN, Fox News, CBS, ESPN, and many more. Most news outlets have a YouTube channel and will usually post a few videos a day on the latest news. Next, pathos is used as you are able to look up emotional stories on YouTube from hundreds of users. Lastly, logos are used as users will post reviews of products or statistics of a certain subject which is very interesting. As creators share their content, some eventually start to rise and gain millions of fans and followers. They make a living off of YouTube which I found amazing. Some YouTubers have become a-list celebrities, singers, actors, or professional athletes. It is only going to get bigger and I hope to see where it goes as it is such a great platform.
