Lately journalism has been a series of finding information online, scanning through social media, and always fighting to be the best in their "winner-take-all environment". However as questioned in "20 Questions for 2020", journalist Seth C. Lewis questions what life would be like for a journalist if "journalist were to cut the time they spend on twitter in half". This is interesting because he even goes further into questioning if social media use was ever the "net positivity" that journalist all thought is was. The future of journalist was described best to just go back to "engage[ing] with real people in the real world." The idea of journalism should be that these journalist sought out for in-depth research and reporting it, rather than "copying and pasting stories for quick successes in clicks and reach." 2020 is going to be the year that maybe journalist go back to old school practices and provide even better stories. Old school for the win!
