Twitter being one of the most popular social media apps has to hold some responsibility to staying neutral especially in an age of misinformation. In an article by CNN, the recent cases of times twitter has been spreading misinformation to provide "exposure" to its users. The twitter algorithm usually shows content by which people you are following. Now twitter has been sharing content to people who do not follow each other. Twitter claims to spread relevant and popular tweets by doing this but happens to also spread misinformation as well."We are constantly working to bring people who use Twitter relevant content, and one way we do that is by looking at content and accounts followed by people you follow. This does mean that you might sometimes see accounts or content you don't agree with, but our efforts should not amplify behavior that is meant to intimidate, harass, or threaten others."
