Twitter Vs. Snapchat

Writer's picture: Jack SpragueJack Sprague

I get a lot of my news from two social media sources: Twitter and Snapchat. Twitter (https://twitter.com/) uses short, 1 paragraph at the maximum, posts to break a news story or inform the reader with information they need to know. "Its my favorite news source," said my sister about twitter. Snapchat does it a little differently. In order the get news off of snapchat you have to watch a public story produced by a media outlet. Both outlets rely on ethos whether it's who is tweeting or whose story is being viewed. Twitter is mostly written out news so they tend to favor more logos oriented posts. On the other hand, Snapchat relies a little more on pathos as they have the luxury of lengthy videos that can show the news. Both news outlets supply quality information, so the choice is on the people for how to inform themselves.
