Twitter and Snapchat, both social media platforms used by a similar demographic of teenagers- young adults, are used in completely different ways when it comes to conveying the latest news. It is hard to find a winner when they are used for such vastly different types of communication. In order to make it simple, I’m going to make an easy formula to follow. If you want the latest of the latest news from around the world, with no personalization and less promise of it being 100% true, choose Twitter. “Twitter may be fast, but that speed may merely be the equivalent of a forward rather than new information that expands our understanding of the event” (Leetaru). If you would like personalized media on what you like, whether that being politics, health and beauty, or the Kardashians as soon as you open the app, choose Snapchat. At the end of the day, it is all about what types of news you value the most. https://www.forbes.com/sites/kalevleetaru/2019/02/26/is-twitter-really-faster-than-the-news/#7340b1b1cf74 (174 words, 1 quotation, 1 link, 1 image)
