In the past, the major difference between major news outlets and smaller news outlets used to be how well an article was covered or how accurate it was. In the days of digital media, the number of views on a news website is now based on how visually appealing the cover photo of an article is or how enticing the headline is. The major problem with clickbait is that those who do not read the actual article could share and add to the spread of misinformation.
