Weather Crises

As it is reported on a CNN article, “About 78 million Americans are under a winter weather alert and more than 27 million are going to bed under a hard-freeze warning.” Everything could be easily counted, but damages are unknown and heartbreaking. Even though snowing seems not a big deal with most Americans, but with Texans it’s a big deal, especially when it dropped down to nearly 1 or some areas negative.

“In Texas, communities are desperately seeking warmth and other necessities without electricity in freezing or near-freezing temperatures” (CNN). Texans weren’t prepared for that kind of weather at all. One of my mom’s close friends said, “The power was rolling. It’s on and off for 4 days. Usually it’s off for about 10 to 14 hours and then turns on for only an hour or so. I’m 77. I just can’t stand this at all. This is miserable.”

Apparently, the eco plan for energy (by using windmills and solar panels) was a great idea, but there should have been a back up plan just in case of a storm like last week.
