As I collectively looked through many newspaper covers for multiple cities on "Newseum," I was able to find different strategies that caught my eye. The one that continued to catch my eye was "Vail Daily" because it had more pictures and bolded words. It included catchy titles that made me want to read further into the article. For example, one of the headlines was “COVID-19 continue to present challenges, local summer camp kids grapple to meet unprecedented demand,” which made me want to learn more about summer camp, because I plan to go to summer camp.
As I looked more throughout the website, ones that I had no interest reading were ones that looked dull. One article that looked the least entertaining was "Arkansas Democrat Gazette," as it was not colorful and had too many words on it for my liking.
The more a newspaper can appeal to someone's eye, the more likely the reader will want to read it. The rhetorical strategies such as color, boldness, pictures, and interesting titles will all make a reader more likely to read the articles.
