With the outbreak of Covid-19 spreading, many are staying home. Traffic commutes to work have dramatically lessened and some are wondering where is my insurance discount? Most American's are paying high premiums during a time where they are limited to leaving their homes and cars are staying parked in the garage. Insurance companies say, “While the mileage discount is something considered in the sale of the original policy and/or renewal, it is very difficult to effectively compute and price for such a short period of time,” says Ariana Gibson of Clearcover, an auto insurance company. (Forbes) While this would be nice to receive discounts everywhere possible during this time, for those in the insurance industry it would cause a great hassle as they are unsure of the length of time this will go on and how many it will truly affect.
