Why Music is Beautiful!

What makes music such an appealing commodity? Why do we choose to listen to different artists and musicians? And what is considered real music?

A lot of people might claim that music is subjective, but I beg to differ. Not everyone's taste in music will always align with everyone else's. There is no right or wrong answer when it comes to musical preferences. One could find a song beautiful and artistic, while another person could find said song to be ugly and nonsensical. And that's ok, because this song could mean something deeper to the person who does enjoy it.

Music surges through all of us and base our body movements through the rhythm of song that we find pleasurable. Author Nimrit Singh stated that "everyone is "wired" differently; that's why all of us listen and connect with different types of music...Music, also connected to parts of the brain involving memory, can even associate certain songs with certain events in the past, such as in childhood."

What is "real" music and what is the definition of it? The answer is: there is no definition. When people talk about "real" music, they mainly talk about songs that they've heard in the past or what was part of their childhood. However, we shouldn't try to define what songs are "real" music and just enjoy the tunes and melodies that we find pleasing. Just because a song doesn't have someone singing doesn't mean that it's not music. What should matter is what a certain song can make you feel and how you might associate with the lyrics or the tone of the music that appeals to you. That is what makes music such a beautiful thing, because it can have a huge impact on your life.
