Georgia’s new voting law has been attacked repeatedly for it’s restrictive habits, but the most hated ‘changes’ don’t even exist in it’s effects. The reason for the mass of critics is a proposition from law-makers that never made the bill. According to several corporations and even President Biden himself, it reflects Jim Crow Laws. This complaint arose from the proposal for sunday voting to be banned, which is a trend in the black community. However, this law only addresses changing voting time by adding extra early voting. Biden unintentionally spread this false narrative after being confused by the new addition’s time limit. “a stipulation in the new law that sets the regular hours for extended early voting prior to election day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.” Those companies who continue to make statements regarding their morals being misaligned with Georgia’s are perpetuating this fake news.
